Test presentation
Hemoglobin electrophoresis is a well-established technique routinely used in clinical laboratories to confirm samples for hemoglobinopathies (hemoglobin variants and thalassemias).
The HYDRAGEL ACID(E) HEMOGLOBIN(E) kit enables, on HYDRASYS instruments, the separation of the normal hemoglobins (A and F) and the detection of the major hemoglobin variants: S and C, by electrophoresis on acidic agarose gels.
The semi-automated HYDRASYS instrument offers sample application, electrophoretic migration and staining.
The visualization of the gel provides qualitative analysis.
Electrophoresis on acidic gel is used to differentiate hemoglobins S from D and E from C.
